Top spa experience, won over by the beerspa; Disappointing cruise, a roundabout ride with only purpose to get you consumed; recommended in the evening when the city lights make the atmosphere magical

The truth is that everything has been easy. From the purchase process, follow-up and communication. The thermal baths of Gellert we have fallen in love with super quiet and very complete. It transports you to the 19th century and you leave there refreshed. The boat is also a marvel, at 20.30 it is not yet night and it is the return when you start to see it all illuminated. The parliament is something magical, day and night.

The building and the spa are really great. The architecture, the ambience, the pools. Overall it was very crowded, which firstly made it very noisy and secondly there was a lack of loungers to rest and relax. In addition, the outdoor pool was not open and the staff were simply unfriendly. A great pity. Important: Take a swimming cap with you or alternatively be prepared to buy one in the spa store at the entrance. Bathing caps must be worn in the swimming pool, not in the thermal pools!

Thought winter was not a good time to go...who knows, came on boxing day, sun shining, and the best experience ever, bath, sauna, and massage. Could do with a pleasant cafe or restaurant.

It was a great experience with clean grounds. The Dayspalm was great with a quiet place to relax and enjoy a beverage and fruit bowl, highly recommend adding. We all got a 45 min massage. One couple was cut short due to the therapist not being ready on time, that was a bummer. Also bummed to see one of the main outdoor pools closed.

Top things to do in Budapest

Szechenyi Baths | Budapest's largest thermal baths complex

With around 15 indoor and 3 outdoor pools, the Szechenyi Thermal Baths are one of the largest and most popular bath complexes in Hungary. The bath waters are supplied by two natural thermal springs, rich in minerals, and known to have healing properties. The bath complex maintain their waters at various temperatures and offer numerous wellness treatments to ensure that you are fully relaxed and rejuvenated.

Things to know before booking your Szechenyi Spa tickets

  • Szechenyi Thermal Bath tickets come with various options. You can choose between a standard entry with a locker or a private cabin for storage and changing. For added convenience, you can upgrade your ticket to include fast-track entry, allowing you to skip the line during morning or afternoon slots.
  • All Szechenyi tickets provide full-day access to Szechenyi Spa's 15 indoor and 3 outdoor pools, sauna, and steam cabins. You can relax for as long as you'd like, making it a great value for those who want to unwind for the entire day.
  • All combo tickets allow you to split the experiences across different days, which means you can fully relax at the baths one day and visit the next attraction on another day, maximizing your experiences while saving money.
  • Popular Budapest Szechenyi Spa tickets, especially the Sparty and combo packages, tend to sell out quickly. So, try to book your tickets at least 3-4 weeks in advance to secure a spot on your preferred date and time, particularly on weekends and holidays.
  • Kids under 14 are not allowed in saunas, steam rooms, plunge pools, or indoor thermal pools due to their high mineral content. They can only use the outdoor pools, including the swimming pool and leisure pool, which do not contain thermal water. Infants are only permitted in pools if they are fully toilet-trained. The use of swimming diapers is strictly prohibited.
  • For something truly memorable, opt for the Sparty tickets. These offer access to the famous late-night Szchenyi Spa parties every Saturday, where you can enjoy electronic music and visual shows while soaking in the thermal baths.
